Katie and Wyeth were married in Middletown, Connecticut. Their reception was held in Portland, Connecticut. I arrived at the Inn at Middletown to a crowded, but an excited room. Katie was getting her finishing touches of her make up completed. Her bridesmaids were enthusiastic and the weather was just perfect. I knew right away it was going to be an amazing day.

As a photographer, I always look for natural light. Lighting can either make or break a photograph. Most of the time when I walk into a room while a bride is getting ready, the makeup artist or the hair stylist are already there using awful yellow lamps that are horrific for pictures. To my pleasant surprise, Katie was placed in front of a beautiful window with gorgeous natural light. The navy blue wall to her back created a perfect backdrop. As you can see from the images, the natural light really worked in my favor.

My favorite moment from the getting ready images was when Katie's grandmother saw her for the first time with her beautiful wedding dress on. It was such an intimate moment, as they both held each other as tears of joy came running down their cheeks. It reminded me why I love my job so much. I love moments that are so honest that you forget I was even there when you see the final image. Katie and her grandmother were living in the moment and I was able to capture it. I don't know about you, but I have never been moved to tears by a candid photo. My joy comes from capturing true, authentic emotions.

Katie and Wyeth were married in Middletown, CT. Wyeth looked sharp in his gray tux. I remember Katie walking into the church and down the aisle as Wyeth smiled. You could easily tell from his smile that he knew he was the luckiest guy on Earth to marry his best friend, his beautiful bride.

The wedding reception was held at Saint Clements Castle. Saint Clements Castle is an absolutely stunning venue. The landscaping is out of this world and I took full advantage it. During the reception, there were 4 special speeches. With each speech, you could hear how much Katie and Wyeth were truly loved.

Soon it was time for dancing. The dance floor was packed and the band was incredible. There were so many great moments captured on the dance floor. To Katie and Wyeth, may you never stop dancing and may your love grow stronger every day!
